Ali’s bridal session at the Utah Capitol was a little more excitement than I bargained for. Let’s just say that getting pooped on by a bird was the least of my problems. Here’s a sneak peek of Kali’s senior shoot. It was a great break for me to take from the weddings to shoot her Utah senior portraits. We mostly shot around my favorite little town of Pleasant Grove. Even when I asked Kali to lay in the weeds she was game. So you can see how awesome of a girls she is. I love her spunk and sass and sweetness.

So, I’ll be the first to admit I’m kind of at a loss when it comes to computers. So if you’re a computer wiz, can you answer me this: Where are my blog posts? All the blog posts I put up in the last week have disappeared. I’m not sure where they are or how to get them back. Yeah, I know. I sound like a total dork. But please, I miss them desperately!

Now, on to another post (fingers crossed I don’t lose this one.)

I shot Justin and Andrea on the most beautiful day in March. Salt Lake City was gorgeous for a spring wedding. And I was so happy to be the photographer. There were buds on the trees and some sunshine…just enough to make me happy. You know how I love my sunflare. Thanks Justin and Andrea for letting me share this day with you!

Alex and McKenzie – sneak peek | Utah Wedding Photography

Today was just one of those days where the weather cooperated perfectly for an engagement shoot near Utah Lake. When we started shooting it was overcast and cloudy. Which is great for even skintones, but not so great when I’m looking for some good romantic sun flare. Well, the weather guys must’ve heard my cursing because just towards the end of our shoot the clouds parted and out popped the early evening sun. And boy, it was gorgeous. It makes me love being a wedding photography, especially when I have awesome places like Utah Lake to shoot at.

Tip of the day: Bring a reflector along with you…ALWAYS! It’s great to bounce in light when there is hardly any light to be had, but it works as shade or fill. Basically, it’s always going to help. Never hurt. So try it out.

Sisters | Utah Senior Portraits

I think these two girls are brilliant.

Besides having numerous talents, these two young women are kind and caring and smart and funny and well, simply enjoyable. I had such a fun time shooting these darling sisters. Unique and charming in their own way, they made me think of my own three sisters. I love all of them, but I tell you, there were days when we were growing up that sometimes I don’t think it came across that way. I laugh when I think of the trouble we used to get into. And the stupid fights we had over filling the gas tank in our Big Bertha of a station wagon. Thanks girls for hanging out with me while I shot Utah senior portraits and making me think of my own crazy siblings!

Maybe it’s because I’m an Air Force Brat, but I’m so totally drawn to a man in a uniform. And not in a creepy way . . . alright, sort of creepy. But my point is I’m simply amazed with Shawn. He’s in the army. He’s awesome. There isn’t much more to say. Then when you add Paige to the mix, you get engagement perfection.

These two have been dating for awhile. In fact, I first met Paige when I shot her brother’s wedding a couple years ago. It was great to see them come together and get engaged. I’m looking forward to awesome bridals and an epic wedding day. You’ll have to check back for those posts.

Tiff and Tuks in Utah | Park City Photography

Two and a half years ago I flew to New Zealand to shoot Tiffany and Tukara’s wedding. It was my first international wedding shoot. It feels like it was yesterday and I can’t wait for a chance to get back to New Zealand. That place is amazing . . . and not just because of The Lord of the Rings. Did you know that in the middle of Auckland there is a park called One Tree Hill. And it’s literally a giant hill. (So it doesn’t actually have one tree on it, but there are a bazillion sheep roaming around the joint.) As the New Zealanders would say, “It’s quite lovely.” ha.

Since Tiff and Tuks have been visiting Utah, I had a chance to shoot them again (kind of like engagement images in Park City) . . . and brush up on my NZ slang. I’m quite awful.
